Bill Dorogy, Ph.D. Director of Chemistry & Materials Dr. Bill Dorogy joined the Warner Babcock Institute in 2010. From 2005 to 2010, Dr. Dorogy held the position of Principal Research Scientist in Corporate Research at Boston Scientific, a company specializing in medical devices used in minimally invasive surgical procedures. In this position, he played a key role in developing methods enabling the application of drug eluting coatings to various substrates. Prior to this, Dr. Dorogy was a Senior Research Chemist at Clariant's Masterbatch Division where he developed radio-opaque thermoplastics for medical applications and thermochromic & sensory thermoplastics for consumer applications. At Hewlett-Packard, Dr. Dorogy expedited the development of lightScribe™, a direct CD/DVD disc labeling process, enabling high volume manufacturing within ~2.5 years. He holds a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the Ohio State University and B.S. in Chemistry from Lehigh University. Dr. Dorogy is the author of 13 patents and a number of publications. |
