Executive TrainingOpportunities & Challenges of the Current Environment
Green Chemistry for Business Leaders
Our Half-day Seminar Designed for Executives:
This course focuses on the high level concepts needed to succeed in creating both top line growth and bottom line savings from a Green Chemistry-trained workforce. Participants in this course will gain the knowledge and understanding of current environmental problems and the opportunities they present for business. (3 hours, includes lunch or appetizers, as well as the opportunity for networking.)
The three focus areas of the course cover both the environmental issues that impact business and the environmentally benign and cost-effective solutions that provide opportunities for growth:
- Identifying current environmental problems (e.g. global warming, ozone depletion, water pollution, etc.), describing the fundamental science behind the problems, and discussing the general politics surrounding them.
- Examining the ideas behind green technology (and specifically Green Chemistry), reviewing current industrial case studies where green chemistry has been successfully implemented, and exploring the economic implications of these cases.
- Applying ideas of green chemistry to create economical, environmentally benign business solutions.
This course is taught by John C. Warner, one of the founders of Green Chemistry. In 2008, Dr. Warner chaired the Science Advisory Committee of the California Environmental Protection Agency's Green Chemistry Initiative, which recently released landmark policy recommendations to eliminate or reduce the use of toxic substances in products and manufacturing processes. Dr. Warner has enthralled lecture halls across the world with his compelling and timely message. In addition, John is the recipient of several teaching awards from both science and non-science oriented organizations, including the American Institute of Chemistry's Northeast Division.
